Energeno launches Wattson Solar Plus

Wattson Solar Plus, an improved version of the world-renowned energy monitor, has been launched by Energeno. Retaining the original model’s ergonomic design and simple interface, the Solar Plus brings even greater ease of use and functionality to the UK installer and their customers.

The new model offers significant benefits to installers, making installation easier whilst giving flexible options for more precise and complex projects. The Wattson Solar Plus provides options to avoid fitting Henley Blocks for measurement of usage as well as generation, and the TXact option provides a more precise generated power reading.

The Solar Plus can integrate multiple transmitters and monitors so that one monitoring system can tie together home consumption and PV systems installed in different buildings. The monitor also offers greater flexibility when it comes to the type of installation, supporting larger properties with multiple energy generation types with the ability to combine all data on single piece of equipment.

Demand for the Wattson Solar has outstripped supply for the last three years, but Energeno’s new investment has ensured a more secure and robust supply chain that will support the business’ projected growth. To date, around 25,000 Wattson Solar units have been sold across the globe and, as demand for home-generated renewable energy increases and greater sophistication is called for in home monitoring, demand for the Solar Plus will increase significantly despite the proposed cut in Feed in Tariff.

Mark Elliott, director of operations at Energeno, comments: “The Wattson Solar product range is extremely popular with the consumer, as its sleek design means it fits nicely into the home, while the simplicity of the display and the data provided mean everyone in the family can engage with energy use. Combined with its ease of installation and breadth of data offering, the Solar Plus completes the solar package installers sell to customers.”

The Solar Plus also displays the amount of energy that has been generated historically and now also displays carbon savings. Much of the additional functionality has been developed in response to feedback from customers.

Richard Smith, managing director of RGI Solar, adds: “To make sure customers get the best performance for their PV investment we try to include Wattson Solar as part of every installation. The monitor shows clearly how the system is performing. Our customers are delighted with the simplicity and look of the Wattson energy monitor, but the new Solar Plus is even better. It’s easier to install, more accurate and offers greater flexibility by combining inputs from different transmitters and supporting multiple monitors.”

The Wattson Solar Plus can be purchased from leading renewable energy distributors. www.wattsonsolar.com
