SunPower To Build 25-MW of Solar for FPL

SunPower Corporation announced that it has been selected by Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) to build one of the largest solar photovoltaic (PV) power plants in the United States and a second power plant at the Kennedy Space Center. The installations will include a 25–megawatt (MW) power plant in DeSoto County, Florida and a 10–MW project at the Kennedy Space Center.

GM Installs 12-MW Rooftop Solar System

General Motors (GM) announced that it is adding the world's largest rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) power installation to its assembly plant located in Figueruelas, Zaragoza, Spain. When the project is completed in the fall of 2008, the Zaragoza solar installation will cover about 2,000,000 square–feet of roof at the plant and comprises approximately 85,000 solar panels.

China Sunergy Announces US $45 Million Private Offering

Solar cell manufacturer China Sunergy Co. Ltd. announced that it plans to make a private offer of approximately US $45 million of its convertible senior notes due 2013. China Sunergy plans to grant the initial purchaser of the notes an option to purchase up to an additional US $5 million in aggregate principal amount of the notes to cover over allotments.

GE Unit Passes US $4 Billion in Investment
